How do I get my name on the waiting list?

You need to complete MKC’s waiting list application form email, mail or drop it off. If you want to remove your name from the list, please call or email info@kiwaniscourts.ca.

How long is the waiting list?

  • Type A (Studio suite) = Approx. 1.5 – 2 year
  • Type B (One bedroom) = Approx. 4 – 5 years
  • Type C (One bedroom) = Approx. 3.5 – 4 years
  • Type D (One bedroom) = Approx. 2 – 3 years
  • Type E (Two bedroom) = Approx. 5 – 6 years
  • Type F (Two bedroom) = Approx. 4 – 5 years

What is the cost to put my name on the waiting list?

There is no cost to put your name on our list.

When can I come for a tour?

Once we have a unit available, we will call you to come for a tour. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer tours before that as all units are currently occupied.

How much notice will I receive before the move-in date?

MKC has month-to-month leases so you would typically have less than a month’s notice if a unit becomes available.

Can I get in sooner with a note from my doctor?

No, the waiting list is based on when applications were submitted.

If you call and have a suite ready for me and I’m not ready, does my name go to the bottom of the waiting list?

You will keep your spot on the list if you’re not ready when we call. We look forward to you joining us when you are ready.

Do you allow pets?

Sorry, residents are not allowed to have pets.

Do you provide personal/medical care?

MKC offers independent living with a service package and does not provide any personal or medical care for residents. Each resident and his or her family are responsible for arranging personal care.

Do you offer diabetic meals?

No, but we do offer fresh fruit instead of desserts. Residents are responsible for monitoring their own nutritional requirements.

Do you have a nurse on site?

There are no nurses on site.

Can I smoke in my apartment?

MKC is a non-smoking building. Residents are not allowed to smoke in their apartments. There is a dedicated area outside the building in the courtyard where smoking is allowed.

What is the cost of a second person?

The cost of a second person is $785.00 per month.

What is the cost of parking?

Parking is $50.00 per month.
